Ann Randolph's 4-week course in how to develop a solo performance piece. The workshop runs from September 13th through October 4. Classes will be held at The Marsh on Saturdays, from 10am to 2pm.

The workshop meets from 7pm to 10:30pm for eight weeks and
culminates in a special performance at The Marsh.
The workshop is open to all levels of experience. Class
size is limited, and admission is first come, first served.

Student will start with their own script, idea, character, etc. and create a twenty minute performance piece. Topics will include: getting out of your own way; writing and improvising; the narrator as a character; the difference between psychology and art; relating to the audience. The class will meet ten times over the course of the above scheduled dates.
Tuition
is $400, with a $50 deposit due at the time of registration.
The balance of the payment is due by the start of class.
Applicants not accepted due to over enrollment will be refunded
their deposit. Applicants who wish to drop the class after
it has begun must notify the instructor before the second
class to receive a 50% refund and before the third class
to receive a 25% refund. No refunds are available after
the third class.

This 2-evening workshop will help you get started writing a fictional piece of solo theater.
As David Ford says: "The distinction between fiction and nonfiction has ceased to have meaning. But it's a different creative act to start from imagining a world."
This workshop deals with the fun, the freedom, and the frustrations of creating a world and populating it.
